أَخْبَرَنَا عُمَرُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الْهَمْدَانِيُّ ، وَأَحْمَدُ بْنُ عُمَيْرِ بْنِ جَوْصَا ، وَعَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ زِيَادِ بْنِ أَبِي سُفْيَانَ ، قَالُوا : حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْوَزِيرِ الْوَاسِطِيُّ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا إِِسْحَاقُ الأَزْرَقُ ، عَنْ سُفْيَانَ ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " أَجْرَى الْخَيْلَ الْمُضَمَّرَةَ مِنَ الْحَفْيَاءِ إِِلَى ثَنِيَّةِ الْوَدَاعِ وَبَيْنَهُمَا سِتَّةُ أَمْيَالٍ ، وَمَا لَمْ تُضَمَّرْ مِنْ ثَنِيَّةِ الْوَدَاعِ إِِلَى مَسْجِدِ بَنِي زُرَيْقٍ وَبَيْنَهُمَا مِيلٌ " . وَكُنْتُ فِيمَنْ أَجْرَى .
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates: The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) held a race between trained horses from Hafyaa to Thaniyyat al-Wada’, and the distance between these two places is six miles. And he held a race between untrained horses from Thaniyyat al-Wada’ to the mosque of Banu Zuraiq, and the distance between these two is one mile. I was also among those who participated in this race.
