Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) supplicated against those people who martyred the noble Companions at the place of Bi’r Ma‘unah for thirty days. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) prayed against the tribes of Ri‘l, Lihyan, and ‘Usayyah, who had disobeyed Allah and His Messenger. Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: Allah Almighty revealed verses of the Qur’an regarding those who were martyred at Bi’r Ma‘unah, which we used to recite, but later those verses were abrogated. (Among them were these words:) “Convey to our people that we have met our Lord, and He is pleased with us and we are pleased with Him.”
