أَخْبَرَنَا الْفَضْلُ بْنُ الْحُبَابِ الْجُمَحِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ كَثِيرٍ ، أَخْبَرَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنِ الأَعْمَشِ ، عَنْ أَبِي سُفْيَانَ ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَجُلٌ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ أَيُّ الْجِهَادِ أَفْضَلُ ؟ قَالَ : " أَنْ يُعْقَرَ جَوَادُكَ ، وَيُهْرَاقَ دَمُكَ " .
Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: A man submitted, "O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)! Which jihad is the most virtuous?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "That your horse's legs are cut and your blood is shed."
