أَخْبَرَنَا خَلادُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الْمُقْرِيُ بْنُ خَالِدٍ الْوَاسِطِيِّ بِنَهَرِ سَابُسَ عَلَى الدِّجْلَةِ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبَّاسُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ التَّرْقُفِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا الْمُقْرِئُ ، حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدُ بْنُ أَبِي أَيُّوبَ ، حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو الأَسْوَدِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ ، عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، أَنَّهُ كَانَ فِي الرِّبَاطِ فَفَزِعُوا إِِلَى السَّاحِلِ ، ثُمَّ قِيلَ : لا بَأْسَ ، فَانْصَرَفَ النَّاسُ وَأَبُو هُرَيْرَةَ وَاقِفٌ ، فَمَرَّ بِهِ إِِنْسَانٌ ، فَقَالَ : مَا يُوقِفُكَ يَا أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ ؟ فَقَالَ : سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، يَقُولُ : " مَوْقِفُ سَاعَةٍ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ خَيْرٌ مِنْ قِيَامِ لَيْلَةِ الْقَدْرِ عِنْدَ الْحَجَرِ الأَسْوَدِ " . قَالَ أَبُو حَاتِمٍ : سَمِعَ مُجَاهِدٌ مِنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ أَحَادِيثَ مَعْلُومَةً بَيْنَ سَمَاعِهِ فِيهَا عُمَرُ بْنُ ذَرٍّ ، وَقَدْ وَهِمَ مَنْ زَعَمَ أَنَّهُ لَمْ يَسْمَعْ مِنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ شَيْئًا ، لأَنَّ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ مَاتَ سَنَةَ ثَمَانٍ وَخَمْسِينَ فِي إِِمَارَةِ مُعَاوِيَةَ ، وَكَانَ مَوْلِدُ مُجَاهِدٍ سَنَةَ إِِحْدَى وَعِشْرِينَ فِي خِلافَةِ عُمَرَ بْنِ الْخَطَّابِ ، وَمَاتَ مُجَاهِدٌ سَنَةَ ثَلاثَ وَمِئَةٍ ، فَدُلَّ هَذَا عَلَى أَنَّ مُجَاهِدًا سَمِعَ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ .
It is narrated about Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that he was standing guard with some people. During this time, it was said that there was a danger from the direction of the coast. Then it was stated that there was no harm in it, so the people went back, but Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) remained there. A man passed by him and asked: O Abu Hurairah! Why are you staying here? He replied: I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) say: "Standing for a moment in the way of Allah is better than performing voluntary prayers at the Black Stone on the Night of Qadr." (Imam Ibn Hibban, may Allah have mercy on him, says:) Mujahid heard specific hadiths from Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him). Umar bin Darr also heard hadiths from him, and the person who thought that Mujahid did not hear any hadith from Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) is mistaken, because Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) passed away in the fifty-eighth year of Hijrah during the caliphate of Sayyiduna Muawiyah (may Allah be pleased with him), while Mujahid was born in the twenty-first year of Hijrah during the caliphate of Sayyiduna Umar bin Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him), and Mujahid passed away in one hundred and three Hijri. So this indicates that Mujahid did hear from Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him).
