Hadith 4580

أَخْبَرَنَا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الْقَطَّانُ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا عُمَرُ بْنُ يَزِيدَ السَّيَّارِيُّ ، قَالَ : دَخَلْتُ عَلَى حَمَّادِ بْنِ زَيْدٍ وَهُوَ شَاكٍ ، فَقُلْتُ حَدَّثَنِي حَدِيثَ غَيْلانَ بْنِ جَرِيرٍ ، فَقَالَ : يَا بُنَيَّ سَمِعْتُ غَيْلانَ وَهُوَ شَيْخٌ كَبِيرٌ ، وَلَكِنْ حَدَّثَنِي أَيُّوبُ عَنْهُ ، فَقُلْتُ حَدَّثَنِي عَنْ أَيُّوبَ ، عَنْ غَيْلانَ بْنِ جَرِيرٍ ، عَنْ زِيَادِ بْنِ رِيَاحٍ الْقَيْسِيِّ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " مَنْ خَرَجَ مِنَ الطَّاعَةِ ، وَفَارَقَ الْجَمَاعَةَ فَمَاتَ فَمِيتَةٌ جَاهِلِيَّةٌ ، وَمَنْ خَرَجَ عَلَى أُمَّتِي يَضْرِبُ بَرَّهَا وَفَاجِرَهَا ، لا يَتَحَاشَى مِنْ مُؤْمِنِهَا ، وَلا يَفِي بِذِي عَهْدِهَا ، فَقِتْلَةٌ جَاهِلِيَّةٌ ، وَمَنْ قَاتَلَ تَحْتَ رَايَةٍ عِمِّيَّةٍ يُقَاتِلُ لِعَصَبَةٍ ، أَوْ يَغْضَبُ لِعَصَبَةٍ ، فَقَتْلُهُ قِتْلَةٌ جَاهِلِيَّةٌ " .
Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever withdraws from obedience (to the ruler of the time) and separates himself from the (Muslim) community, and then dies in that state, dies the death of the days of ignorance. And whoever rises up against my Ummah and begins killing the righteous and the wicked among them, and does not spare a believer, nor fulfills a covenant (i.e., the covenant made with a dhimmi), then such a person is killed like the people of the days of ignorance. And whoever fights under a banner of misguidance, supporting a group, or becomes angry for the sake of a group (and is killed while fighting), then his killing is the killing of the days of ignorance."
