Hadith 4576

أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو يَعْلَى ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ حَمْزَةَ الْمَعْوَلِيُّ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا جَرِيرُ بْنُ حَازِمٍ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ بْنِ عُمَيْرٍ ، عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ سَمُرَةَ ، قَالَ : خَطَبَنَا عُمَرُ بْنُ الْخَطَّابِ بِالْجَابِيَةِ ، فَقَالَ : قَامَ فِينَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مقامي فِيكُمُ الْيَوْمَ ، فَقَالَ : " أَلا أَحْسِنُوا إِِلَى أَصْحَابِي ، ثُمَّ الَّذِينَ يَلُونَهُمْ ، ثُمَّ يَفْشُو الْكَذِبُ حَتَّى يَشْهَدَ الرَّجُلُ عَلَى الشَّهَادَةِ لا يُسْأَلُهَا ، وَيَحْلِفُ الرَّجُلُ عَلَى الْيَمِينِ لا يُسْأَلُهَا ، فَمَنْ أَرَادَ مِنْكُمْ بُحْبُوحَةَ الْجَنَّةِ فَلْيَلْزَمِ الْجَمَاعَةَ ، فَإِِنَّ الشَّيْطَانَ مَعَ الْوَاحِدِ ، وَهُوَ مِنَ الاثْنَيْنِ أَبْعَدُ ، وَلا يَخْلَوَنَّ أَحَدُكُمْ بِامْرَأَةٍ ، فَإِِنَّ الشَّيْطَانَ ثَالِثُهُمَا ، وَمَنْ سَاءَتْهُ سَيِّئَتُهُ ، وَسَرَّتْهُ حَسَنَتُهُ فَهُوَ مُؤْمِنٌ " .
Sayyiduna Jabir bin Samurah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: Sayyiduna Umar bin Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him) delivered a sermon to us at the place of "Jabiyah" and said: The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) stood among us just as I am standing among you today. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: Beware! Treat my companions well, then those who come after them, then those who come after them. Then falsehood will spread to such an extent that a man will give testimony though it was not asked of him, and a person will swear an oath though it was not demanded of him. So whoever among you wishes to enter Paradise, let him stick to the congregation (of Muslims), for indeed Satan is with one person and is farther from two. And no man should ever be alone with a woman, for the third among them is Satan. And whoever dislikes evil and likes good, he is a believer.
