Hadith 4547

أَخْبَرَنَا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ إِِدْرِيسَ الأَنْصَارِيُّ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ أَبِي بَكْرٍ ، عَنْ مَالِكٍ ، عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ سَعِيدٍ ، أَنَّهُ قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنِي عُبَادَةُ بْنُ الْوَلِيدِ بْنِ عُبَادَةَ بْنِ الصَّامِتِ ، أَنَّ عُبَادَةَ بْنَ الصَّامِتِ ، قَالَ : " بَايَعْنَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَلَى السَّمْعِ وَالطَّاعَةِ فِي الْيُسْرِ وَالْعُسْرِ ، وَالْمَنْشَطِ وَالْمَكْرَهِ ، وَأَنْ لا نُنَازِعَ الأَمْرَ أَهْلَهُ ، وَأَنْ نَقُومَ أَوْ نَقُولَ بِالْحَقِّ حَيْثُ مَا كُنَّا ، لا نَخَافُ فِي اللَّهِ لَوْمَةَ لائِمٍ " . قَالَ أَبُو حَاتِمٍ رَحِمَهُ اللَّهُ : سَمِعَ عُبَادَةُ بْنُ الْوَلِيدِ عُبَادَةَ بْنِ الصَّامِتِ .
Sayyiduna Ubadah bin Samit (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: We pledged allegiance to the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) upon his blessed hand that we would obey in ease and hardship, in pleasure and displeasure, and in all circumstances, and that we would not dispute with the rulers regarding authority, and that we would uphold the truth (the narrator is in doubt, perhaps these are the words), and that we would speak the truth wherever we may be, and that we would not fear the blame of any blamer for the sake of Allah Almighty. (Imam Ibn Hibban, may Allah have mercy on him, says:) Ubadah bin Walid heard this hadith from Sayyiduna Ubadah bin Samit (may Allah be pleased with him).
