Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: (Once) the ‘Isha prayer was established. A man came and stood by the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) and said: I have something to ask of you, O Messenger of Allah. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) stood with this man in a corner (of the mosque) until the people (the narrator is unsure, perhaps these are the words) or some people began to doze off. Then the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) stood up and performed the prayer, and the people also performed the prayer. The narrator did not mention whether those people renewed their ablution (or did not renew it).
