Ibn Hibban

Sayyiduna Abu Sa'id Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "What I fear most for you is that which the earth will bring forth (the narrator is in doubt, perhaps these are the words) the worldly adornment." A man said, "O Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him)! Will good bring evil?" The narrator states: Then the Prophet (peace be upon him) remained silent until we realized that revelation was being sent down upon him. He began to sweat, and his breathing became heavy. Then, when this state of his ended, he asked, "Where is the questioner?" He replied, "I am here. I only intended good with this question." The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: "Good only brings good. The spring season causes whatever it grows to kill some animals and afflict others with hardship. Only the animal that eats greenery is different, for it eats until its belly is full, then it goes out into the sun, where it defecates and urinates, then returns and eats again, then comes and lies down. Wealth is sweet and lush; whoever acquires it with its due right, there is blessing in it for him, and whoever acquires it unlawfully, there is no blessing in it for him. The example of such a person is like one who eats but is never satisfied. And the upper hand is better than the lower hand." The narrator named Husayn bin Hasan stated: Sufyan says that A'mash had asked him about this hadith forty years earlier.
