Hadith 4508

أَخْبَرَنَا أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ الْخَطِيبُ ، حَدَّثَنَا بِشْرُ بْنُ آدَمَ ابْنِ بِنْتِ أَزْهَرَ السَّمَّانُ ، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الأَنْصَارِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي ، عَنْ ثُمَامَةَ ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ ، قَالَ : " كَانَ قَيْسُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ مِنَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مَنْزِلَةَ صَاحِبِ الشَّرَطِ مِنَ الأَمِيرِ " .
Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: Sayyiduna Qais bin Sa'd (may Allah be pleased with him) had the same relationship with the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) as a chief of police has with a governor.
