Sayyiduna Abu Humayd Sa’idi (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: On the occasion of the Battle of Tabuk, we set out with the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him). We came to a valley where there was a garden belonging to a woman. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to his companions: Estimate its yield. The people estimated it. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) estimated that its yield would be ten wasqs. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to the woman: Whatever its yield is, count and keep it aside. If Allah wills, we will come to you on our return. The narrator says: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) departed from there until he reached Tabuk. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Tonight, a very strong wind will blow upon you, so during this wind, no one should remain standing. Whoever has a camel with him should tie its rope. Sayyiduna Abu Humayd (may Allah be pleased with him) says: We tied them. When night fell, a strong wind began to blow. One of us stood up, and the wind lifted him and threw him onto the mountain of Tay. Then the ruler of Aylah (a place) came and presented a white mule as a gift to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) gave him a sheet to wear and had a document written for him. Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) set out, and we set out with him until we came to that valley (where we had passed before). The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: I wish to travel quickly. Whoever among you wishes to travel quickly with me, let him do so. The narrator says: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) departed from there, and we departed with him until the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) reached near Madinah. He said: This (i.e., Madinah) is Taybah (i.e., pure). Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) looked at Mount Uhud and said: This is Uhud, a mountain that loves us and we love it. Shall I not tell you about the best households of the Ansar? The people replied: Yes (please tell us). The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: The best household of the Ansar is Banu Najjar, then Banu Abd al-Ashhal, then the household of Banu Harith, then the household of Banu Sa’idah. In fact, all the households of the Ansar are excellent.
