أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ الْجُنَيْدِ بِبُسْتَ ، حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا بَكْرُ بْنُ مُضَرَ ، عَنِ ابْنِ الْهَادِ ، أَنَّ زِيَادَ بْنَ أَبِي زِيَادٍ مَوْلَى ابْنِ عَيَّاشٍ ، حَدَّثَهُ عَنْ عِرَاكِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُهُ يُحَدِّثُ عُمَرَ بْنَ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ، قَالَتْ : جَاءَتْنِي مِسْكِينَةٌ تَحْمِلُ ابْنَتَيْنِ لَهَا ، فَأَطْعَمْتُهَا ثَلاثَ تَمَرَاتٍ ، فَأَعْطَتْ كُلَّ وَاحِدَةٍ مِنْهُمَا تَمْرَةً ، وَرَفَعَتْ إِلَى فِيهَا تَمْرَةً لِتَأْكُلَهَا ، فَاسْتَطْعَمَتَاهَا ابْنَتَاهَا ، فَشَقَّتِ التَّمْرَةَ الَّتِي كَانَتْ تُرِيدُ أَنْ تَأْكُلَهَا بَيْنَهُمَا فَأَعْجَبَنِي حَنَانُهَا ، فَذَكَرْتُ الَّذِي صَنَعَتْ لِرَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فقَالَ : " إِنَّ اللَّهَ قَدْ أَوْجَبَ لَهَا الْجَنَّةَ ، وَأَعْتَقَهَا بِهَا مِنَ النَّارِ " .
Lady Aisha Siddiqa (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates: A poor woman came carrying her two daughters. I gave her three dates to eat. She gave one date to each of her daughters and raised one date to her mouth to eat it herself, but both daughters asked for it. She then split the date, which she wanted to eat herself, into two pieces and divided it between them. I was very impressed by her kindness. I mentioned her action to the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him), and he said: Allah the Almighty has made Paradise obligatory for this woman and has freed her from Hell because of this.
