Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: Some people from the tribe of Banu ‘Ukl (the narrator is unsure, perhaps these are the words) or some people from the tribe of ‘Uraina came to Madinah Munawwarah. The climate there did not suit them, so the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) ordered them to go to the camels. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) instructed them to drink the milk and urine of the she-camels. When they drank the milk and urine and their illness was cured, they killed the shepherd and drove away the camels. This news reached the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), so he sent a detachment after them in the morning. After the day had risen, they were caught and brought back; their hands and feet were cut off, their eyes were branded with hot irons, and they were thrown onto burning stones. They asked for water, but they were not given water. The narrator states: Abu Qilabah narrated this. These were the people who committed murder, theft, reverted to disbelief after accepting faith, and waged war against Allah and His Messenger (that is why such a severe punishment was given to them).
