أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ الْخَلِيلِ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ إِِبْرَاهِيمَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا الْوَلِيدُ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا الأَوْزَاعِيُّ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنِي يَحْيَى بْنُ أَبِي كَثِيرٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي قِلابَةَ ، عَنْ عَمِّهِ ، عَنْ عِمْرَانَ بْنِ حُصَيْنٍ ، قَالَ : " أَتَتْ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ امْرَأَةٌ مِنْ جُهَيْنَةَ ، فَقَالَتْ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، إِِنِّي أَصَبْتُ حَدًّا فَأَقِمْهُ عَلَيَّ . فَدَعَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَلِيِّهَا ، فَقَالَ : أَحْسِنْ إِِلَيْهَا حَتَّى تَضَعَ مَا فِي بَطْنِهَا ، فَإِِذَا وَضَعَتْ فَأْتِنِي بِهَا . فَلَمَّا وَضَعَتْ أَتَى بِهَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَأَمَرَ بِهَا ، فَشُدَّ عَلَيْهَا ثِيَابُهَا ، ثُمَّ أَمَرَ بِهَا فَرُجِمَتْ ، ثُمَّ صَلَّى عَلَيْهَا . فَقَالَ عُمَرُ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، أَتُصَلِّي عَلَيْهَا وَقَدْ زَنَتْ ؟ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " لَقَدْ تَابَتْ تَوْبَةً لَوْ قُسِمَتْ عَلَى سَبْعِينَ مِنْ أَهْلِ الْمَدِينَةِ لَوَسِعَتْهُمْ ، وَهَلْ وَجَدْتَ أَفْضَلَ مِنْ أَنْ جَادَتْ بِنَفْسِهَا لِلَّهِ جَلَّ وَعَلا " . قَالَ أَبُو حَاتِمٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ : وَهِمَ الأَوْزَاعِيُّ فِي كُنْيَةِ عَمِّ أَبِي قِلابَةَ ، إِِذِ الْجَوَادُ يَعْثُرُ ، فَقَالَ : عَنْ أَبِي قِلابَةَ ، عَنْ عَمِّهِ أَبِي الْمُهَاجِرِ ، وَإِِنَّمَا هُوَ أَبُو الْمُهَلَّبِ اسْمُهُ : عَمْرُو بْنُ مُعَاوِيَةَ بْنِ زَيْدٍ الْجَرْمِيُّ مِنْ ثِقَاتِ التَّابِعِينَ وَسَادَاتِ أَهْلِ الْبَصْرَةِ .
Sayyiduna Imran bin Husayn (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that a woman from the tribe of Juhaina came to the service of the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him). She said: O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)! I have committed a crime that is liable to a prescribed punishment, so establish the prescribed punishment upon me. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) called for her guardian and said: Treat her well until she gives birth to the child. When she gives birth to the child, then bring her to me. When the woman gave birth to the child, that person brought the woman to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). By the order of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), her clothes were tied firmly, then by his order, she was stoned to death. Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) performed her funeral prayer. Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) said: O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)! Will you perform the funeral prayer for a woman who has committed adultery? The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: She has repented with such a repentance that if it were distributed among seventy people of Madinah, it would be sufficient for all of them. Do you find anyone more virtuous than her? She sacrificed herself for Allah. (Imam Ibn Hibban, may Allah have mercy on him, says:) Imam Awza'i made a mistake in mentioning the kunyah of Abu Qilabah's uncle, because even a horse can stumble. He said: This narration is reported from Abu Qilabah from his uncle Abu Muhajir, whereas his uncle's kunyah is Abu Muhallab, and his name is Amr bin Mu'awiyah bin Zayd al-Jarmi. He is among the trustworthy Tabi'in and among the chiefs of the people of Basrah.
