Abdur Rahman bin Ishaq narrates: A man came to Zuhri while I was listening at that time. He said: O Abu Bakr! (meaning Ibn Shihab Zuhri) How long before the passing of the Prophet (peace be upon him) was the revelation discontinued? Zuhri replied: Since I heard this from Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him), no one has asked me about this after that. Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) had informed that when the Prophet (peace be upon him) passed away, (some time before his passing) revelation was being sent down to him more frequently.
