ذكر البيان بأن المرء مخير عند استثنائه في اليمين بين أن يترك يمينه أو يمضي فيها-Clarification that one who adds an exception to an oath may choose to fulfill or break it
Hadith 4342

أَخْبَرَنَا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الْقَطَّانُ ، حَدَّثَنَا عُمَرُ بْنُ يَزِيدَ السَّيَّارِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْوَارِثِ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَيُّوبُ ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " مَنْ حَلَفَ فَاسْتَثْنَى فَهُوَ بِالْخِيَارِ ، إِِنْ شَاءَ مَضَى ، وَإِِنْ شَاءَ تَرَكَ غَيْرَ حَنِثٍ " .
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them) narrates: The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever takes an oath and makes an exception, then he has the choice; if he wishes, he may uphold it, and if he wishes, he may abandon it without being sinful."
