Sayyiduna Abu Dharr Ghifari (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: I asked, "O Messenger of Allah, which deed is the most virtuous?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "To have faith in Allah and to strive in His path." The narrator says: I asked, "O Messenger of Allah, which slave is the most virtuous?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The one who is the best in the eyes of his master and whose price is the highest." Sayyiduna Abu Dharr Ghifari (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: I asked, "What do you think if I am unable to do that (i.e., if I am unable to do these deeds, then what should I do)?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Then help the weak and work for the disabled." The narrator says: I asked, "What do you think if I am unable to do even that?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Then keep people safe from your evil, for this will be considered charity from you for your own self."
