Hadith 4266

أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ سَلْمٍ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ إِِبْرَاهِيمَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا الْوَلِيدُ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا الأَوْزَاعِيُّ ، قَالَ : سَأَلْتُ الزُّهْرِيَّ : أَيُّ أَزْوَاجِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ اسْتَعَاذَتْ مِنْهُ ؟ قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنِي عُرْوَةُ بْنُ الزُّبَيْرِ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ، أَنَّ بِنْتَ الْجَوْنِ لَمَّا دَخَلَتْ عَلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَدَنَا مِنْهَا ، قَالَتْ : أَعُوذُ بِاللَّهِ مِنْكَ . فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " عُذْتِ بِعَظِيمٍ ، الْحَقِي بِأَهْلِكِ " . قَالَ الزُّهْرِيُّ : الْحَقِي بِأَهْلِكِ : تَطْلِيقَةٌ .
Imam Awza'i narrates: I asked Zuhri, "Which wife of the Prophet (peace be upon him) was it who sought refuge from the Prophet (peace be upon him)?" Zuhri replied: 'Urwah bin Zubair has narrated this statement of Lady Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her), that when the Prophet (peace be upon him) went to his daughter and approached her (and that woman did not recognize the Prophet, peace be upon him), she said, "I seek refuge with Allah from you." So the Prophet (peace be upon him) said, "You have sought refuge with a Great One; go back to your family." Imam Zuhri narrates: "Go back to your family" meant one divorce.
