Hadith 4245

أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو خَلِيفَةَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا الْقَعْنَبِيُّ ، عَنْ مَالِكٍ بن أنس بن مالك ، عَنْ ثَوْرِ بْنِ زَيْدٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي الْغَيْثِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " السَّاعِي عَلَى الأَرْمَلَةِ وَالْمِسْكِينِ كَالْمُجَاهِدِ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ ، وَأَحْسِبُهُ قَالَ : كَالصَّائِمِ لا يُفْطِرُ ، وَكَالْقَائِمِ لا يَنَامُ " . أَبُو الْغَيْثِ : سَالِمٌ مَوْلَى ابْنِ مُطِيعٍ ، قَالَهُ الشَّيْخُ .
Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “The one who looks after widows and poor people is like the one who fights in the way of Allah.” (The narrator says:) I think these words are also in the narration: “Like the one who fasts continuously without breaking his fast, and like the one who stands in prayer without sleeping.” (Imam Ibn Hibban, may Allah have mercy on him, says:) The narrator named Abu’l-Ghaith’s name is Salim, the freed slave of Ibn Muti’. This has been stated by the Shaykh.
