Hadith 4239

أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَلانَ بِأَذَنَةَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا لُوَيْنٌ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ الْمُبَارَكِ ، عَنْ شُعْبَةَ ، عَنْ عَدِيِّ بْنِ ثَابِتٍ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ يَزِيدَ ، عَنْ أَبِي مَسْعُودٍ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " إِِذَا أَنْفَقَ الرَّجُلُ عَلَى أَهْلِهِ وَهُوَ يَحْتَسِبُهَا ، كَانَتْ لَهُ صَدَقَةً " .
Sayyiduna Abu Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates this statement of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him): "When a person spends on his wife hoping for reward, then this act is charity for him."
