Hadith 4192

أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ سَلْمٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا حَرْمَلَةَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ وَهْبٍ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنِي عَمْرُو بْنُ الْحَارِثِ ، أَنَّ سَعِيدَ بْنَ أَبِي هِلالٍ حَدَّثَهُ ، عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ مَوْلَى الْمَهْرِيِّ ، عَنْ أَبِي ذَرٍّ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " لَكَ فِي جِمَاعِ زَوْجَتِكَ أَجْرٌ " ، فَقِيلَ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، وَفِي شَهْوَةٍ يَكُونُ مِنْ أَجْرٍ ؟ ، قَالَ : " نَعَمْ ، أَرَأَيْتُ لَوْ كَانَ لَكَ وَلَدٌ قَدْ أَدْرَكَ ، ثُمَّ مَاتَ أَكُنْتَ مُحْتَسِبَهُ ؟ " ، قَالَ : نَعَمْ ، قَالَ : " أَنْتَ كُنْتَ خَلَقْتَهُ ؟ " ، قَالَ : بَلِ اللَّهُ خَلَقَهُ ، قَالَ : " أَنْتَ كُنْتَ هَدَيْتَهُ ؟ " ، قَالَ : بَلِ اللَّهُ هَدَاهُ ، قَالَ : " أَكُنْتَ تَرْزُقُهُ ؟ " ، قَالَ : بَلِ اللَّهُ كَانَ رَازِقَهُ ، قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " فَضَعْهُ فِي حَلالِهِ وَجَنِّبْهُ حَرَامَهُ ، وَأَقْرِرْهُ ، فَإِنْ شَاءَ اللَّهُ أَحْيَاهُ ، وَإِنْ شَاءَ أَمَاتَهُ وَلَكَ أَجْرٌ " .
Sayyiduna Abu Dharr Ghifari (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said: When you have relations with your wife, you also receive a reward for it. It was asked, "O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)! Do we get a reward even for fulfilling our desires?" The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Yes, what do you think, if as a result of this relation a child is born to you, who grows up and then passes away, would you hope for reward because of your patience over him? That person replied: Yes. The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) asked: Did you create that child? He replied: Rather, Allah Almighty created him. The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Did you grant him guidance? He replied: Rather, Allah Almighty granted him guidance. The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) asked: Did you provide him sustenance? He replied: Rather, Allah Almighty provided him sustenance. The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Therefore, use it in a lawful way and avoid the unlawful, and you should maintain it; if Allah Almighty wills, He will give it life, and if He wills, He will give it death, and you will receive a reward.
