Ibn Hibban

Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Amr (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates this statement of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): “Indeed, among the major sins is that a person abuses his parents.” (Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Amr, may Allah be pleased with him) asked: How can a person abuse his own parents? The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “A man abuses another’s father, so he abuses his father in return. He abuses another’s mother, so he abuses his mother in return.”
