Hadith 4112

أَخْبَرَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ سُفْيَانَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ ، عَنِ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ صَالِحٍ ، عَنِ السُّدِّيِّ ، عَنْ عَدِيِّ بْنِ ثَابِتٍ ، عَنِ الْبَرَاءِ ، قَالَ : لَقِيتُ خَالِي أَبَا بُرْدَةَ ، وَمَعَهُ الرَّايَةُ ، فَقُلْتُ : إِلَى أَيْنَ ؟ ، فَقَالَ " أَرْسَلَنِي رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِلَى رَجُلٍ تَزَوَّجَ امْرَأَةَ أَبِيهِ ، أَنْ أَقْتُلَهُ ، أَوْ أَضْرِبَ عُنُقَهُ " .
Sayyiduna Bara’ (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: I met my maternal uncle, Sayyiduna Abu Burdah (may Allah be pleased with him), and he had a flag with him. I asked: Where are you going? He replied: The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) has sent me to a man who has married his father’s wife, (and he has ordered) that I kill him (the narrator is in doubt, perhaps these are the words:) that I strike his neck.
