Hadith 4105

أَخْبَرَنَا عُمَرُ بْنُ سَعِيدِ بْنِ سِنَانٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ أَبِي بَكْرٍ ، عَنْ مَالِكٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ ، عَنْ عُرْوَةَ بْنِ الزُّبَيْرِ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ، أَنَّهَا قَالَتْ : كَانَ عُتْبَةُ بْنُ أَبِي وَقَّاصٍ عَهِدَ إِلَى أَخِيهِ سَعْدِ بْنِ أَبِي وَقَّاصٍ ، أَنَّ ابْنَ وَلِيدَةَ زَمْعَةٌ مِنِّي ، فَاقْبِضْهُ إِلَيْكَ ، قَالَتْ : فَلَمَّا كَانَ عَامُ الْفَتْحِ ، أَخَذَهُ سَعْدُ بْنُ أَبِي وَقَّاصٍ ، فَقَالَ ابْنُ أَخِي قَدْ كَانَ عَهِدَ إِلَيَّ فِيهِ ، فَقَامَ إِلَيْهِ عَبْدُ بْنُ زَمْعَةَ ، فَقَالَ : أَخِي ، وَابْنُ وَلِيدَةَ أَبِي ، وُلِدَ عَلَى فِرَاشِهِ ، فَأَتَيَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَقَالَ سَعْدٌ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، أَخِي كَانَ عَهِدَ إِلَيَّ فِيهِ ، وَقَالَ عَبْدُ بْنُ زَمْعَةَ : أَخِي ، وَابْنُ وَلِيدَةَ أَبِي ، وُلِدَ عَلَى فِرَاشِهِ ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " هُوَ لَكَ يَا عَبْدُ بْنُ زَمْعَةَ ، الْوَلَدُ لِلْفِرَاشِ ، وَلِلْعَاهِرِ الْحَجَرُ " ، ثُمَّ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لِسَوْدَةَ بِنْتِ زَمْعَةَ : " احْتَجِبِي مِنْهُ لَمَّا رَأَى مِنْ شَبَهِهِ بِعُتْبَةَ " ، فَمَا رَآهَا حَتَّى لَقِيَ اللَّهَ .
Lady Aisha Siddiqa (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates: Utbah bin Abu Waqqas advised his brother, Sayyiduna Sa’d bin Abi Waqqas (may Allah be pleased with him), that the son of Zam’ah’s slave woman is my child, so you should take him into your custody. Lady Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) states: In the year of the conquest of Makkah, Sayyiduna Sa’d bin Abi Waqqas (may Allah be pleased with him) took the boy into his custody and said: This is my nephew; my brother made me promise regarding him. Then ‘Abd bin Zam’ah stood up and said: This is my brother, the son of my father’s slave woman; he was born on my father’s bed. Both of them presented themselves before the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him). Sayyiduna Sa’d (may Allah be pleased with him) said: O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)! My brother made me promise regarding this child. ‘Abd bin Zam’ah said: This is my brother and the son of my father’s slave woman; he was born on my father’s bed. The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said: O ‘Abd bin Zam’ah, he will be given to you, because the child belongs to the owner of the bed, and the adulterer gets deprivation. Then the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said to Lady Sawdah bint Zam’ah (may Allah be pleased with her): Observe veil from this boy. The reason for this was: The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) had noticed the resemblance of the child with Utbah, so that boy never saw Lady Sawdah (may Allah be pleased with her) until he presented himself before Allah the Exalted.
