Hadith 4053

أَخْبَرَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ سُفْيَانَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا حِبَّانُ بْنُ مُوسَى ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ ، قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنَا صَالِحُ بْنُ حَيٍّ ، أَنَّ رَجُلا مِنْ أَهْلِ خُرَاسَانَ ، قَالَ لِلشَّعْبِيِّ : إِنَّا نَقُولُ عِنْدَنَا : إِنَّ الرَّجُلَ إِذَا أَعْتَقَ أُمَّ وَلَدِهِ ، ثُمَّ تَزَوَّجَهَا ، فَهُوَ كَالرَّاكِبِ هَدْيَهُ ، قَالَ الشَّعْبِيُّ أَخْبَرَنِي أَبُو بُرْدَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي مُوسَى ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " إِذَا أَدَّبَ الرَّجُلُ أَمَتَهُ ، وَأَحْسَنَ تَأْدِيبَهَا ، وَعَلَّمَهَا فَأَحْسَنَ تَعْلِيمَهَا ، ثُمَّ أَعْتَقَهَا وَتَزَوَّجَهَا ، كَانَ لَهُ أَجْرَانِ ، وَإِذَا آمَنَ الرَّجُلُ بِعِيسَى ، ثُمَّ آمَنَ بِي ، فَلَهُ أَجْرَانِ ، وَالْعَبْدُ إِذَا اتَّقَى رَبَّهُ ، وَأَطَاعَ مَوَالِيَهُ ، فَلَهُ أَجْرَانِ " .
Salih bin Hayy narrates: A man from Khurasan said to Imam Sha’bi: Among us it is said: When a person frees his umm walad and then marries her, his example is like that of a person who rides his sacrificial animal. So Imam Sha’bi said: Sayyiduna Abu Burdah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated to me from Sayyiduna Abu Musa Ash’ari (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “When a person brings up his slave girl well and gives her a good upbringing, teaches her well and gives her a good education, then frees her and marries her, that person will have a double reward. And whoever believes in Sayyiduna ‘Isa (Jesus, peace be upon him) and then believes in me, he will also have a double reward. And the slave who fears his Lord and obeys his master, he will also have a double reward.”
