Hadith 4007

أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ أَبِي عَوْنٍ الرَّيَّانِيُّ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ حُرَيْثٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا الْفَضْلُ بْنُ مُوسَى ، عَنِ الْحُسَيْنِ بْنِ وَاقِدٍ ، عَنْ عِلْبَاءِ بْنِ أَحْمَرَ ، عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ، قَالَ : " كُنَّا مَعَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي سَفَرٍ ، فَحَضَرَ النَّحْرُ ، فَاشْتَرَكْنَا فِي الْبَقَرَةِ سَبْعَةً ، وَفِي الْبَعِيرِ سَبْعَةً ، أَوْ عَشْرَةً " .
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates: We were traveling with the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) when the time for sacrifice came, so seven of us shared in one cow, and seven (the narrator is unsure, perhaps these are the words) or ten people shared in one camel.
