Abu Wa'il Shaqiq bin Salamah narrates: I used to frequently visit the service of Sabi bin Ma'bad. Masruq and I would ask him about his incident, and he related: I was a Christian man. I accepted Islam and put on the Ihram for Hajj and Umrah. Sulaiman bin Rabiah and Zaid bin Suhan heard me reciting the Talbiyah (for both Hajj and Umrah together), I was reciting the Talbiyah (at Qadisiyyah) in front of both of them, so they said: This man is more astray than his household camel. Their words weighed upon me like a mountain, until when I reached Makkah, I presented myself before Sayyiduna Umar bin Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him), who was at that time in Mina. I mentioned this matter to him, so he reproached both of them and turned towards me and said: You have been guided to the Sunnah of your Prophet. He said this to me twice.
