It is narrated regarding the statement of our master Abdullah bin Abbas, may Allah be pleased with him: The command of Allah Almighty is, "Do not move your tongue with it to hasten it."
Our master Ibn Abbas, may Allah be pleased with him, narrates: The Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him, used to face difficulty at the time of the revelation of the revelation and would move his lips.
Our master Abdullah bin Abbas, may Allah be pleased with him, says: I demonstrate the movement of those lips as the Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him, used to move them, so Allah Almighty revealed this verse regarding it.
"Do not move your tongue with it to hasten it. Indeed, upon Us is its collection and its recitation."
Our master Ibn Abbas, may Allah be pleased with him, says: By its collection is meant "to gather it in your chest."
Then you recite this verse:
"We recite it: so follow its recitation."
Our master Ibn Abbas, may Allah be pleased with him, says: That is, you listen to it attentively and remain silent.
"Then upon Us is its explanation."
By this is meant, then your recitation of it is upon Us.
Our master Ibn Abbas, may Allah be pleased with him, narrates: Then when Gabriel, peace be upon him, would come to the Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him, the Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him, would listen to it attentively, and when Gabriel, peace be upon him, would leave, the Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him, would recite that verse just as Gabriel, peace be upon him, had recited it before him.
