Hadith 3756

أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مَحْمُودِ بْنِ مُقَاتِلٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْجَبَّارِ بْنُ الْعَلاءِ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ دِينَارٍ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ أَبَا مَعْبَدٍ ، يَقُولُ : سَمِعْتُ ابْنَ عَبَّاسٍ ، يَقُولُ : سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَلَى الْمِنْبَرِ ، يَخْطُبُ ، فَقَامَ إِلَيْهِ رَجُلٌ ، فَقَالَ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، اكْتُتِبْتُ فِي غَزَاةِ كَذَا وَكَذَا ، وَخَرَجَتِ امْرَأَتِي حَاجَةً ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " اذْهَبْ فَحِجَّ بِامْرَأَتِكَ " .
Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates: I heard the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) delivering a sermon on the pulpit, saying: A man stood before him and said, "O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)! My name has been registered for participation in such-and-such battle, while my wife wants to set out for Hajj." So the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Go and perform Hajj with your wife."
