Hadith 3740

أَخْبَرَنَا الْفَضْلُ بْنُ الْحُبَابِ الْجُمَحِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ الْمَدِينِيِّ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو ضَمْرَةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامُ بْنُ عُرْوَةَ ، عَنْ صَالِحِ بْنِ صَالِحٍ السَّمَّانِ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " لا يَصْبِرُ أَحَدٌ عَلَى لأْوَاءِ الْمَدِينَةِ وَجَهْدِهَا إِلا كُنْتُ لَهُ شَفِيعًا ، أَوْ شَهِيدًا " .
Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever endures the hardship and difficulty of Madinah Munawwarah, I will be his 'intercessor' (the narrator is in doubt whether these are the words) 'witness'."
