Hadith 3702

أَخْبَرَنَا عِمْرَانُ بْنُ مُوسَى بْنِ مُجَاشِعٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا جَرِيرٌ ، عَنْ حَبِيبِ بْنِ أَبِي عَمْرَةَ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ بِنْتِ طَلْحَةَ ، قَالَتْ : أَخْبَرَتْنِي عَائِشَةُ أُمُّ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ أَنَّهَا ، قَالَتْ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، أَلا نُخْرِجُ وَنُجَاهِدُ مَعَكَ ، فَإِنِّي لا أَرَى عَمَلا فِي الْقُرْآنِ أَفْضَلَ مِنَ الْجِهَادِ ، قَالَ : " لا ، إِنَّ لَكُنَّ أَحْسَنَ الْجِهَادِ ، حَجُّ الْبَيْتِ حَجٌّ مَبْرُورٌ " .
Mother of the Believers, Lady Aisha Siddiqa (may Allah be pleased with her), narrates: She said, "O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), should we not also go out with you and participate in jihad? Because in my opinion, the most virtuous deed in the Qur'an is jihad." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "No, rather the best jihad is Hajj to the House of Allah—a Hajj that is accepted (mabroor)."
