Hadith 3699

أَخْبَرَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْجَبَّارِ الصُّوفِيُّ بِبَغْدَادَ ، حَدَّثَنَا سُرَيْجُ بْنُ يُونُسَ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو إِسْمَاعِيلَ الْمُؤَدِّبُ ، حَدَّثَنَا يَعْقُوبُ بْنُ عَطَاءٍ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ، قَالَ : جَاءَتْ أُمُّ سُلَيْمٍ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَقَالَتْ : حَجَّ أَبُو طَلْحَةَ وَابْنُهُ وَتَرَكَانِي ، فَقَالَ : " يَا أُمَّ سُلَيْمٍ عُمْرَةٌ فِي رَمَضَانَ تَعْدِلُ حَجَّةً " .
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them) narrates: Sayyidah Umm Sulaym (may Allah be pleased with her) came to the service of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). She said: Sayyiduna Abu Talhah (may Allah be pleased with him) and his son have gone for Hajj and have left me behind, so the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said: O Umm Sulaym! Performing Umrah in Ramadan is equal to performing Hajj.
