‘Inah bin Abdur Rahman narrates from his father: The mention of Laylat al-Qadr was made in the presence of Sayyiduna Abu Bakrah (may Allah be pleased with him), so he said: I seek it only in the last ten nights, because I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) say: “Seek it in the last ten nights, in the remaining seven nights, or in the remaining five nights, or in the remaining three nights, or in the last night.” The narrator says: So Sayyiduna Abu Bakrah (may Allah be pleased with him) used to perform voluntary prayers in the first twenty days of Ramadan as he did throughout the year, but when the last ten nights came, he would worship with special devotion.
