Hadith 3634

أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الأَزْدِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ، أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ ، حَدَّثَنِي صَفُوَانُ بْنُ سُلَيْمٍ ، وَسَعْدُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ ، عَنْ عُمَرَ بْنِ ثَابِتٍ الأَنْصَارِيِّ ، عَنْ أَبِي أَيُّوبَ الأَنْصَارِيِّ ، عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " مَنْ صَامَ رَمَضَانَ ، وَأَتْبَعَهُ بِسِتٍّ مِنْ شَوَّالٍ ، فَذَلِكَ صَوْمُ الدَّهْرِ " .
Sayyiduna Abu Ayyub Ansari (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever fasts in Ramadan and then follows it with six days of fasting in Shawwal, it is as if he has fasted for a lifetime (i.e., the whole year)."
