أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو يَعْلَى ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الصَّبَّاحِ الدُّولابِيُّ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ زَكَرِيَّا ، عَنْ طَلْحَةَ بْنِ يَحِيَى ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ بِنْتِ طَلْحَةَ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ أُمِّ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ ، قَالَتْ : إِنْ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لَيَدْخُلُ عَلَيْنَا ، فَيَقُولُ : " أَصْبَحَ عِنْدَكُمْ شَيْءٌ ؟ " ، فَنَقُولُ : لا ، فَيَقُولُ : " إِنِّي صَائِمٌ " ، قَالَتْ : وَدَخَلَ عَلَيْنَا ذَاتَ يَوْمٍ ، فَقَالَ : " هَلْ عِنْدَكُمْ مِنْ شَيْءٍ ؟ " ، قُلْتُ : نَعَمْ ، حَيْسٌ أُهْدِيَ لَنَا ، فَقَالَ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " لَقَدْ أَصْبَحْتُ وَأَنَا صَائِمٌ " ، ثُمَّ دَعَا بِهِ فَطَعِمَ .
Mother of the Believers, Lady Aisha Siddiqa (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates: Sometimes the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) would come to us and ask, "Do you have anything (to eat)?" If we replied, "No," he would say, "Then I will fast." Lady Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates: Once the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) came to us. He asked, "Do you have anything?" I replied, "Yes! We have been given 'Hais' as a gift." The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said, "This morning, I had intended to fast." Then he asked for the food and ate it.
