Lady Aisha Siddiqa (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates: The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) used to kiss one of his noble wives while he was fasting. The narrator says: I asked Lady Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her): Was it during an obligatory fast or a voluntary fast? Lady Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) replied: In both, in the obligatory and in the voluntary fast. (Imam Ibn Hibban, may Allah have mercy on him, says:): Abu Salamah bin Abdur Rahman heard this narration from Umar bin Abdul Aziz, from Urwah, from Lady Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her). He also heard this narration directly from Lady Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her). And the evidence for its authenticity is this: Ma'mar has stated this; this narration is transmitted from Zuhri, from Abu Salamah, who says: I asked Lady Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) whether it was about the obligatory or the voluntary fast? So, on one occasion, he narrated this from Umar bin Abdul Aziz, from Urwah, from Lady Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her), and on another occasion, he narrated it directly from Lady Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her).
