أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ سَلْمٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا الُوَلِيدُ بْنُ مُسْلِمٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا الأَوْزَاعِيُّ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنِي يَحِيَى بْنُ أَبِي كَثِيرٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو قِلابَةَ ، أَنَّ أَبَا أَسْمَاءَ الرَّحَبِيَّ حَدَّثَهُ ، عَنْ ثَوْبَانَ مَوْلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنَّهُ خَرَجَ مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لِثَمَانِ عَشْرَةَ خَلَتْ مِنْ شَهْرِ رَمَضَانَ إِلَى الْبَقِيعِ ، فَنَظَرَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِلَى رَجُلٍ يَحْتَجِمُ ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " أَفْطَرَ الْحَاجِمُ وَالْمَحْجُومُ " .
Sayyiduna Thawban (may Allah be pleased with him), who was the freed slave of the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), narrates: Once, on the eighteenth of Ramadan, he went towards Baqi’. The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) saw a man who was having cupping done, so the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: The fast of the one who does cupping and the one who gets it done is broken.
