Hadith 3514

أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحِيَى الذُّهْلِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدُ بْنُ عَامِرٍ ، عَنْ شُعْبَةَ ، عَنْ خَالِدٍ الْحَذَّاءِ ، عَنْ حَفْصَةَ بِنْتِ سِيرِينَ ، عَنْ سَلَمَانَ بْنِ عَامِرٍ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " مَنْ وَجَدَ تَمْرًا ، فَلِيُفْطِرْ عَلَيْهِ ، وَمَنْ لا يَجِدُ ، فَلِيُفْطِرْ عَلَى الْمَاءِ ، فَإِنَّهُ طَهُورٌ " .
Sayyiduna Salman bin Amir (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever finds dates should break his fast with them, and whoever does not find them should break his fast with water, for it is a means of purification."
