Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abi Awfa (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: We were traveling with the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him). He said to a man: Get down and mix sattu (barley flour) for us. He replied: O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him)! The sun has not (yet set). The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: Get down and mix sattu for us. The man got down and mixed the sattu, and the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) drank it. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: When you see that the night has come from this side and the day has departed from that side, then the fasting person should break his fast. In this narration, the word "ajdih" means to soak the sattu. This has been stated by Imam Abu Hatim.
