Hadith 3490

أَخْبَرَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ سُفِيَانَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ الْحَجَّاجِ السَّامِيُّ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَوَانَةَ ، عَنْ مُطَرِّفٍ ، عَنْ عَامِرٍ ، عَنْ مَسْرُوقٍ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ، قَالَتْ : " إِنْ كَانَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لِيَبِيتُ جُنُبًا ، فَيَأْتِيهِ بِلالٌ لِصَلاةِ الْغَدَاةِ ، فَيَقُومُ فَيَغْتَسِلُ ، فَأَنْظُرُ إِلَى الْمَاءِ يَنْحَدِرُ مِنْ جِلْدِهِ وَرَأْسِهِ ، ثُمَّ أَسْمَعُ قِرَاءَتَهُ فِي صَلاةِ الْغَدَاةِ ، ثُمَّ يَظَلُّ صَائِمًا " ، قَالَ مُطَرِّفٌ : فَقُلْتُ لَهُ : أَفِي رَمَضَانَ ؟ قَالَ : سَوَاءٌ عَلَيْهِ .
Lady Aisha Siddiqa (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates: The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) would sometimes spend the night in a state of major ritual impurity (janabah), then Bilal (may Allah be pleased with him) would come to him to call him for the morning prayer, so the Prophet (peace be upon him) would get up and perform ghusl (ritual bath). I would see the water flowing down the skin and head of the Prophet (peace be upon him), and then I would also hear his recitation in the Fajr prayer, and he would be in a state of fasting. The narrator named Mutarrif states: I asked my teacher: Did this happen in Ramadan? He replied: The ruling is the same (whether it is Ramadan or outside of Ramadan, the ruling remains the same).
