Hadith 3408

أَخْبَرَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ سُفِيَانَ ، حَدَّثَنَا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا جَرِيرُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْحَمِيدِ ، عَنِ الأَعْمَشِ ، عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " مَنِ اسْتَعَاذَكُمْ بِاللَّهِ فَأَعِيذُوهُ ، وَمَنْ سَأَلَكُمْ بِاللَّهِ ، فَأَعْطُوهُ ، وَمَنْ دَعَاكُمْ فَأَجِيبُوهُ ، وَمَنْ صَنَعَ إِلَيْكُمْ مَعْرُوفًا فَكَافِئُوهُ ، فَإِنْ لَمْ تَجِدُوا مَا تُكَافِئُونَهُ ، فَادْعُوا اللَّهَ لَهُ حَتَّى تَرَوَا أَنْ قَدْ كَافَأْتُمُوهُ " ، قَالَ أَبُو حَاتِمٍ : قَصَّرَ جَرِيرٌ فِي إِسْنَادِهِ ، لأَنَّهُ لَمْ يَحْفَظْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ التَّيْمِيَّ فِيهِ .
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates: The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Whoever seeks refuge with you in the name of Allah, grant him refuge; and whoever asks you in the name of Allah, give him something; and whoever invites you, accept his invitation; and whoever does good to you, repay him; and if you do not find anything with which to repay him, then pray for him so much that you feel you have repaid him." (Imam Ibn Hibban, may Allah have mercy on him, says:): Jarir has shortened its chain because he did not remember the name of Ibrahim Taimi in its chain.
