Sayyiduna Abu Sa'id Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: Some of the Ansar asked the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) for something, and the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) gave it to them. They asked him again, and he gave it to them again, until whatever wealth he had was finished. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: Whatever good I have, I will not withhold it from you, but whoever tries to avoid asking, Allah will keep him from asking, and whoever tries to be self-sufficient, Allah will make him self-sufficient, and whoever wants to be patient, Allah will grant him patience. And no one has been given anything better and more expansive than patience.
