Hadith 3385

أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ قُتَيْبَةَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا حَرْمَلَةُ بْنُ يَحِيَى ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ وَهْبٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنِي مُعَاوِيَةُ بْنُ صَالِحٍ ، عَنْ رَبِيعَةَ بْنِ يَزِيدَ ، عَنْ أَبِي إِدْرِيسَ الْخَوْلانِيِّ ، عَنْ عَوْفِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ لأَصْحَابِهِ : " أَلا تُبَايعُونِي ؟ " ، قَالُوا : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، قَدْ بَايَعْنَاكَ مَرَّةً ، فَعَلَى مَاذَا نُبَايعُكَ ؟ قَالَ : " تُبَايعُونِي عَلَى أَنْ لا تُشْرِكُوا بِاللَّهِ شَيْئًا ، وَأَنْ تُقِيمُوا الصَّلاةَ ، وَتُؤْتُوا الزَّكَاةَ " ، ثُمَّ أَتْبَعَ ذَلِكَ كَلَمَةً خَفِيفَةً " عَلَى أَنْ لا تَسْأَلُوا النَّاسَ شَيْئًا " ، قَالَ أَبُو حَاتِمٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ : قَوْلُهُ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " عَلَى أَنْ لا تُشْرِكُوا بِاللَّهِ شَيْئًا " ، أَرَادَ بِهِ الأَمْرَ بِتَرْكِ الشِّرْكِ ، وَكَذَلِكَ قَوْلُهُ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " عَلَى أَنْ لا تَسْأَلُوا النَّاسَ شَيْئًا " ، أَرَادَ بِهِ الأَمْرَ بِتَرْكِ الْمَسْأَلَةِ .
Sayyiduna Awf bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said to his companions: "Will you not pledge allegiance to me?" The people said: "O Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him)! We have already pledged allegiance to you once. Upon what should we pledge allegiance to you (again)?" The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: "You should pledge allegiance to me that you will not associate anything with Allah, you will establish prayer, and you will pay zakat." After that, the Prophet (peace be upon him) said in a low voice: "And that you will not ask anything from people." (Imam Ibn Hibban, may Allah have mercy on him, says:): The statement of the Prophet (peace be upon him), "That you will not associate anything with Allah," by this he meant to command not to commit shirk. Similarly, his statement, "That you will not ask anything from people," by this he meant to command not to ask (from people).
