Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Amr (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates this statement of the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): “A person who is disobedient to his parents, one who reminds others of his favors, and one who habitually drinks alcohol will not enter Paradise.” (Imam Ibn Hibban, may Allah have mercy on him, says:): Shubah and Thawri have differed regarding the chain of this narration. Thawri says it is transmitted from Salim from Jaban, and both of them are trustworthy and memorizers. However, Thawri has more knowledge about the hadiths of the people of his city than Shubah and is a greater memorizer regarding these narrations than Shubah, especially those narrations which are transmitted from A’mash, Abu Ishaq, and Mansur. Therefore, if this narration is connected from Salim from Jaban, then once he narrated it as Shubah narrated, and once as Sufyan narrated.
