Hadith 3331

أَخْبَرَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْجَبَّارِ الصُّوفِيُّ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ الرُّومِيِّ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا النَّضْر بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا عِكْرِمَةُ بْنُ عَمَّارٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو زُمَيْلٍ ، عَنْ مَالِكِ بْنِ مَرْثَدٍ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ أَبِي ذَرٍّ ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " إِنَّ الأَكْثَرِينَ هُمُ الأَسْفَلُونَ ، إِلا مَنْ قَالَ بِالْمَالِ هَكَذَا وَهَكَذَا ، وَكَسَبُهُ مِنْ طَيِّبٍ " .
Sayyiduna Abu Dharr Ghifari (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates this statement of the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): “Those who possess abundance (of wealth and riches) in this world will be of the lowest rank (on the Day of Resurrection), except for the person who says about his wealth ‘in this way and in that way’ (i.e., spends it in charity and good causes), and he has earned it in a lawful manner.”
