Lady Aisha Siddiqa (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates: Once, the wives of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) were gathered with him, and none of them was absent. Lady Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates: I asked, "O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)! Which one of us will meet you first (after death)?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The one whose hand is the longest." The narrator states: The pure wives took a stick and began to measure their hands with it, and Lady Sawda bint Zam'a (may Allah be pleased with her) passed away first because she used to give much charity. (Lady Aisha, may Allah be pleased with her, narrates) We thought that by the Prophet's (peace and blessings be upon him) statement, 'the one whose hand is the longest,' he meant the one who gives the most charity.
