Hadith 3314

أَخْبَرَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ سُفِيَانَ ، حَدَّثَنَا مَحْمُودُ بْنُ غَيْلانَ ، حَدَّثَنَا الْفَضْلُ بْنُ مُوسَى ، حَدَّثَنَا طَلْحَةُ بْنُ يَحِيَى بْنِ طَلْحَةَ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ بِنْتِ طَلْحَةَ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ، قَالَتْ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " أَسْرَعُكُنَّ بِي لُحُوقًا أَطُوَلُكُنَّ يَدًا " ، قَالَتْ : فَكُنَّ يَتَطَاوَلْنَ أَيُّهُنَّ أَطُوَلُ يَدًا ، قَالَتْ : فَكَانَ أَطُوَلَنَا يَدًا زَيْنَبُ ، لأَنَّهَا كَانَتْ تَعْمَلُ بِيَدِهَا وَتَتَصَدَّقُ .
Lady Aisha Siddiqa (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates: The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said: The one among you (i.e., the wives) who will meet me first is the one whose hand is the longest among you. Lady Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates: The wives of the Prophet began measuring their hands to see whose hand was the longest. Lady Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates: So Lady Zainab (may Allah be pleased with her) had the longest hand among us, because she used to work with her own hand and give charity and alms with it.
