Hadith 3270

أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو يَعْلَى ، حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدُ بْنُ يَحِيَى بْنِ سَعِيدٍ الأُمَوِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي ، حَدَّثَنِي يَحِيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ الأَنْصَارِيُّ ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بَعَثَ سَعْدَ بْنَ عُبَادَةَ مُصَدِّقًا ، وَقَالَ : " إِيَّاكَ يَا سَعْدُ أَنْ تَجِيءَ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ بِبَعِيرٍ لَهُ رُغَاءٌ " ، فَقَالَ : لا أَجِدُهُ وَلا أَجِيءُ بِهِ ، فَأَعْفَاهُ .
Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them) narrates: The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) sent Sa’d bin Ubadah to collect Zakat. The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: O Sa’d! Try to avoid bringing such a camel on the Day of Resurrection that is groaning. He (Sa’d) said: Neither will I find it nor will I bring it. So the Prophet (peace be upon him) did not assign him this responsibility.
