Hadith 3241

أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ بْنِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ مَوْلَى ثَقِيفَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا الُوَلِيدُ بْنُ شُجَاعٍ السَّكُونِيُّ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ وَهْبٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ الْحَارِثِ ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ أَبِي هِلالٍ ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ الْمُنْكَدِرِ ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " لا تَسْتَبْطِئُوا الرِّزْقَ ، فَإِنَّهُ لَمْ يَكُنْ عَبْدٌ يَمُوتُ حَتَّى يَبْلُغَهُ آخِرُ رِزْقٍ هُوَ لَهُ ، فَأَجْمِلُوا فِي الطَّلَبِ فِي الْحَلالِ ، وَتَرْكِ الْحَرَامِ " .
Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates this statement of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): "Do not hasten towards sustenance, for a servant does not die until the last portion of his allotted sustenance reaches him. Seek what is lawful and abandon what is unlawful."
