Hadith 3228

أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو يَعْلَى ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا مُجَاهِدُ بْنُ مُوسَى الْمَخَرِّمِيُّ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ الأَزْرَقُ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا زَكَرِيَّا بْنُ أَبِي زَائِدَةَ ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ سَعْدِ بْنِ زُرَارَةَ ، عَنِ ابْنِ كَعْبِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " مَا ذِئْبَانِ جَائِعَانِ أُرْسِلا فِي غَنَمٍ بِأَفْسَدَ لَهَا مِنْ حِرْصِ الرَّجُلِ عَلَى الْمَالِ وَالشَّرَفِ لِدِينِهِ " .
The son of Sayyiduna Ka'b bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates from his father that the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "If two hungry wolves are let loose upon a flock of sheep, they do not cause as much harm to it as the greed for wealth and status causes to a person's religion."
